There is one
girl who is my age and sits across from me who I talk with
every day and have become close with. I definitely want to
invite the girl who is my age, but what about everybody
else? Can I just invite her? Should I consider inviting the
older ladies I've become close with? - Terrie Terrie, making a guest list and sticking to it, seems to
be one of the hardest chores brides have to deal with.
Everyone wants to come and wish you well, celebrate the
event and be a part of the fun. Unfortunately, most brides
do not have unlimited budgets, which means that your guest
list cannot be unlimited either. The current feeling among wedding gurus is that coworkers
are invited only if they are people that you actually
socialize with outside of work hours. Your one girl friend
at work, may be a real friend though, even if you do not see
her outside of work. If you talk every day, have lunch
together, and talk about your personal lives, she should be
invited. But, think about whether you'd be sorry if you
didn't see certain coworkers at your wedding. There is
a longstanding tradition of inviting immediate supervisors.
If you and your fiance know and like your bosses, it's
worth considering them as wedding guests even if you're
not inviting the other coworkers. But don't feel that
you have to follow this tradition and invite a supervisor
who does not really even know you, or who makes your life
miserable. Also, if you've been in your current job for six months or less, it's not expected that you'll invite anyone from work at all. There's nothing wrong with choosing to invite coworkers, if you make friends quickly, but no one will be surprised if you don't....
