Money can buy happiness -- Congratulations to the Yankees. Once again, it shows that if you have enough money, everything will be fine. Let's face it: They buy their team. They have all-stars at every position. Baseball needs a salary cap. If not, at the beginning of the year, teams like Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Washington won't have a chance. It's like everything else — the rich get richer.

The Boss buys another title -- Congratulations to George Steinbrenner and the New York Yankees. Well, George, it seems your $200 million payroll and your $1.5 billion stadium have paid dividends. You've bought yourself another World Series ring.

Happy days are here again -- The Yankees win the World Series. The recession is over. All is right with the world.

Who needs a postseason? -- Instead of having postseason in Major League Baseball, why don't they just go ahead and give the New York Yankees the World Series trophy? They always get the best pitchers, the best hitters, the best fielders and, of course, they have the most money. Instead of calling it the Fall Classic, they can rename it the Yankee Classic.

Must be a typo -- I noticed that in Thursday's SEC Extra there is a misprint. In the polls, they only have three SEC teams — Florida, Alabama and LSU. That has to be wrong. I'm hearing from people how great the SEC is and how strong they are. They have to have more than three teams on the list of top 25 teams. You need to check that out. Maybe the SEC isn't that strong, after Florida and Alabama.

Columnist under Bama influence -- I wish the Press-Register wouldn't let Tommy Hicks drink any more Kool-Aid. He has Alabama first in his poll.
