Nick Saban promised during the bye week that the Crimson Tide would open things up and test the middle of the field with the passing game, and he meant it. Quarterback Greg McElroy threw 25 times in the first half, effectively spreading out LSU's stingy defense for tailback Mark Ingram to roll for 106 of his 144 yards in the second half.
