How you decided to choose your faith walk: Many people are as I was, a baptized church member, who had no assurance of heaven and no intimate relationship with God.

When I was in college, one weekend my parents made me go to a youth revival. There I heard a teenager talk about falling in love with Jesus. He radiated love, joy and peace.

I prayed, "I want what he's got."

God brought me into His holy presence. I saw I was covered with soot - my sins. He touched me and cleansed me. He filled me with His Holy Spirit and delivered me from alcoholism.

I became a "new creature in Christ Jesus." II Corinthians 5:17. I told God that I put my trust in Jesus to get me to heaven. I have not doubted my salvation since.

How faith functions in your daily life: Every day I "consider myself to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus." Romans 6:11, 13. I yield myself to God. I ask Him to fill me with His Holy Spirit and anoint me. I read the Bible and pray daily, because I love God.

A difficult time faith helped you through: My husband has left two jobs for the gospel's sake. Both times God provided for us supernaturally. Once God directed a stranger to give him money.
