Prichard deserves more The citizens of the city of Prichard deserve so much more than what they are getting from Mayor Davis' administration. They should demand to be allowed to vote to dissolve the city and become part of the county. Call in state auditors The district attorney's office should ask state auditors to come to Prichard and review the entire term of Mayor Davis. He has continually stated how well the city is doing. Now he wants to file bankruptcy and blame retirees. Alternative sentencing? Perhaps ex-Judge Thomas is onto something. The judicial process, by virtue of the recent jury verdict, has apparently put the stamp of approval on paddling and other unorthodox penalties. Maybe other judges can paddle nonviolent offenders in lieu of jail sentences. It would eliminate the cost of housing and feeding prisoners. Sneaky prisoners to blame I think I understand the verdict on Thomas. The two prisoners sneaked out of jail, went to the courthouse, sneaked into his chambers, left their fluids all over his rug. Then they sneaked back into their jail cells with nobody seeing them. Evidence can be planted For the caller who said Herman Thomas should've been convicted because the evidence was there because they found the fluids in his office: Have you ever thought that maybe someone planted that stuff there? Get a real case Everybody's worried about how our tax money is being spent. John Tyson Jr. and staff, it's time you spent our tax money wisely. Stop prosecuting all these who-said, she-said, he-said cases, like Herman Thomas and Bishop State. Get a real case. Clark on to-hire list If I ever commit murder, I'm going to hire Cowboy Bob Clark. Find new Democratic prosecutor John Tyson Jr. is finished. The Democratic Party needs to find a good, strong candidate to run for district attorney. Otherwise, we will wind up with a Republican district attorney. And we know what they do: Hound Democrats out of office. Ban money from store? About the man Home Depot fired for wearing the button that said "One nation under God": Home Depot apparently didn't want the word God in their store. I guess they don't want money, either. It all says "In God We Trust." MORE OPINION
