Socialist activity hard to find Most of the definitions of socialism that I'm reading in the paper are only definitions of some people's stupidity. True socialism is almost non-existent.

Turn lanes move traffic faster What does it take the city of Daphne to get some right turn lanes? There is no way you can get anywhere in Daphne. You have to sit and wait for a light. Everybody in front of you turns to the right on the light, and you wait through another light. This is ridiculous. Do something, Daphne.

Supports sales, lodging taxes I'm calling about the penny sales tax increase. I think it's necessary, because as the school systems goes down the tube, it affects all of our property values. It's a stopgap measure. It certainly should only be until we can change the equity funding law. I also believe that this should be a dollar tax on every lodging, every night's lodging in Baldwin County, including week stays, etc., in condos. It's something that nobody would ever feel, $1 a night, and certainly would add to the school systems. The burden would not be on the residents; it would be paid by our tourists. And I don't think it would affect any of the tourism at all.

Life not cell phone-dependent So now I guess I'll be called a pothole because I don't have a cell phone. I think everybody is just being brainwashed to think they have to have these things. And personally, I'm not going to let my life be controlled by a phone.

Cheap residents shirk fees Some of the cheapest people that live in Fairhope must live in our subdivision. Our homeowners' association fee is only $20 a year, and just about 25 percent of the people won't pay it. But they accept all the monthly newsletters, the association's annual telephone directory, the supplies that we need for our Christmas walk. And what's so funny is everybody in here knows who doesn't pay their dues, and quite frankly I would be ashamed to accept anything from them if you're too cheap to pay your dues.
