Entrepreneur focuses on music, design
Jerome Stockwell has big plans. A bartender at Romano's Macaroni Grill since it opened off Airport Boulevard, he is also working on his bachelor's degree in business management with an emphasis on entrepreneur-
ship at the University of South Alabama.
And he has started a graphic design and audio production business
called Roman Empire.
The 27-year-old said he's been in the music industry for 10 years and hopes to make Roman Empire a major record label based in Mobile, but with studios all over the country.
There are two parts to Roman Empire: graphic design and audio design. The business is located at 7675 McKinley Ave.
Stockwell uses independent contractors to help him get the work done. Right now, Roman Empire works with four music producers, two audio engineers and one graphic designer, Lee Saenz, who is also Stockwell's business partner.
On the graphic side of business, Stockwell said, Roman Empire has 15 to 29 regular clients, mostly small, entrepreneur-type businesses, from medical to fantasy sports.
On the audio side, Stockwell mostly works with independent and solo artists, but he can record a full band as well.
He sees his business as ever-changing, with the ability to adapt to the needs of his clients, all the while focusing on providing professional-quality sound for musicians with low budgets.
