Hudson K-8 The Hudson K-8 Student Government Association, under the direction of Alice Murdoch had a fundraiser for the people in Haiti.   The students brought their change and some of the teachers pitched in to help. Hudson K-8 The Student Government Association at Hudson K-8 had a canned food drive in December. The students collected more than 1,750 cans. In 2008, they collected 935 cans. The donations were given to the Greater Birmingham Ministries and four needy families in the school. One class collected more than 250 cans. The winning class received a pizza party... Full story »

Birmingham City Schools Wenonah High Students and teachers at Wenonah High School had their own version of Oprah Winfrey's Big Give project. Jerelle Hendon, a science teacher at the school, said Winfrey's philanthropic ef­forts inspired teachers and students to help others.
