Start by planting tree that keeps clear of lines
Q: I am wondering if you can help me with the selection of a crape myrtle. I am looking primarily to get a reliable orange/red fall color and to make sure they are not too large for my front yard. They cannot get too much above 15 feet or they will be in the power lines running to my home. I need them to be tree-like (not a bush type) so that the neighbors will be able to see when leaving their driveway. I prefer multi-stem trees. I am not too concerned about flower color, but would prefer something bold (or white). I have looked at data on cultivars but get so many conflicting sizes that I am scared to believe any of them. Also, can I prune for height and/or width without ruining the plant? Does a multi-stemmed tree stay shorter than a single-stemmed one? Thank you. - Kelly L.

Battistelli's songs touch listeners
"I got a couple dents in my fender, Got a couple rips in my jeans, Try to fit the pieces together, But perfection is my enemy" are the words that put Francesca Battistelli into hearts of music fans. That hit, "Free To Be Me," also voices an image about the truth of God's Word.

Several names for purple Perilla
Q: I would like help identifying the purple plant in my pictures. The lady who gave it to me called it by name, but I can't remember. It was a common name, not scientific, but either would do. Thanks in advance for your help. - Norma L.
