Southern Women's Show, coming next week, always attracts thousands of visitors to the BJCC. There are all sorts of displays and programs of interests to women, in health care, fashion, beauty, home, finance, travel, and more.

Food plays a big part as well, especially at the White Lily Celebrity Cooking Stage, where presentations will go on each day.

The show's hours are Thursday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is $9 at the door; $8 on-line in advance; $7 at Piggly Wiggly; $5 youth (6-12), and under 6 free with paying adult.

The White Lily Celebrity Cooking Stage will feature a number of cooking demonstrations, including presentations by chefs who are members of the Birmingham Originals, an organization of locally owned restaurants.

THURSDAY'S SCHEDULE:

11:30 a.m. Marco Morosini of Silvertron.

12:30 p.m. Begin with Biscuits, by White Lily.

1:30 p.m. There's No Taste Like Home ... Cooking with Alabama's Best, by Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries.

2:30 p.m. Chef Robert Brewster, by Big Sky Bread Company.

3:30 p.m. Chefs from Daniel George Restaurant and Bar in Mountain Brook.

4:30 p.m. Chef Ken Barrett from Cafe Iz.

FRIDAY, OCT. 3 SCHEDULE:

10:30 a.m. Beef, It's What for Dinner. Alabama Cattlemen's Association.

11:30 a.m. Chef Dale Parker of J. Clyde.

12:30 p.m. Chef Benjamin Leingang of Icon at the Tutwiler Hotel.

1:30 p.m. Begin with Biscuits, White Lily.

2:30 p.m. Dishing Out Dumplings, Harvest Time Foods.

3:30 p.m. Kitchen Basics Cooking School, by Kitchen Basics All Natural Cooking School.

4:30 p.m. Pea-nutty Perfection! Delicious Dishes with Peanuts. Alabama Peanut Producers, presented by Chef Shawn Barrara of Edgewater Beach Resort.

5:30 p.m. Begin with Biscuits.

6:30 p.m. In a Nutshell! Perfectly Prepared Dishes with Peanuts, Alabama Peanut Producers, Chef Shawn Barrara.
