Hockey always a huge hit here
Ready for some hockey?
The Huntsville Havoc open their 2009-10 home schedule Friday night against the Fayetteville FireAntz at the Von Braun Center Arena, and the first 5,000 fans will receive a Havoc magnetic schedule. Tickets range from $8 to $16. Visit huntsvillehavoc.com.
Havoc Waiter Night Monday
The Huntsville Havoc and Logan's Roadhouse are holding Havoc Waiter Night on Monday to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Huntsville & Tennessee Valley. It's from 5 to 9 p.m. at Logan's on Balmoral Drive off Airport Road.

Leukemia benefit tonight
Mary's Wine & Spirits, Interior Marketplace and Caf Michael are holding a Halloween Beer and Wine Tasting tonight to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Skate shop hosting events
The Southside Skate Shop is hosting a free interactive skate demonstration Friday for all ages during the Southeast YMCA's fall festival. It's from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Register for a free skateboard.
The skate shop is also hosting "Day of the Ditch" on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Bandito Burrito Southside, 11220 S. Memorial Parkway. There will be skate contests, a slalom contest and prizes. For more info, visit southsideskates.com.
Viduta Festival Saturday
The heritage of Monte Sano will come alive Saturday at the Monte Sano United Methodist Church Sanctuary. The Viduta festival is from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and it's free. A bonfire with ghost stories starts at 6:30 p.m. See montesano.org.
