Stradivari Quartet's sound 'incomparable'
Four outstanding musicians from four countries - England, Austria, Poland and Switzerland - with four amazing instruments. That's the Stradivari Quartet.
Based in Zurich, the quartet debuted to high accolades from The Budapester Zeitung, praising the group's "incomparable warm sound" and "fabulous" interplay.
The Stradivari Quartet will perform Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 607 Airport Road. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25, but seniors pay $20 and students $15.
Made up of Bartek Niziol, Xiaoming Wang, David Greenlees and Maja Weber, the quartet began after the Swiss Stradivari Foundation Habisreutinger lent four Stradivari instruments to the young musicians. Said to be worth millions, Stradivari instruments are some of the most well-crafted, best-sounding in the world.
Since the quartet formed, it has been playing to audiences around the world, including stops in China, England, Japan and across the U.S.
