The 55th annual Greater Gulf State Fair continues through Sunday, with nightly entertainment, carnival rides and a fairgrounds’ worth of novelties and traditional attractions. Prices increase Thursday for Greater Gulf State Fair

Wednesday is the last day to get some tickets for the Greater Gulf State Fair at the lowest advance prices. The fair takes will be held Oct 23-Nov. 1 at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds in west Mobile. Admission tickets and ride tickets can be ordered at www.mobilefair.com. The Elberta Farmers Market will reopen for the fall season at 8 a.m. Saturday featuring fresh produce including greens, peppers, eggplant, sweet potatoes, peas and okra.
