The arrival of what passes for fall in our part of the world caught me by surprise. That’s not really hard to figure, though, since the arrival of autumn is often very hard to spot. It usually happens on a Thursday afternoon, right about 2 p.m. when everybody is at work, then it is gone within about 20 minutes.... Full story »

In these perilous economic times the ability to offer tasty food at an affordable price is a fine business model, indeed. It doesn’t have to be fine-dining or high-end service to draw a crowd. Offer good, familiar foods and folks will find you.         Such was the case of a tiny strip mall eatery in west Mobile run... Full story »
