Fairhope buysland to use forplaying fields

The city of Fairhope paid $875,000 for 38.9 acres at the corner of Manley Road and Baldwin County 13 with plans to use it for sports and recreation fields, according to Ruffin Gra ham of RJG Real Estate & De velopment , one of the sellers. The property is near Fairhope High School.

Langan Development Co. paid $300,000 for the 7,200-square-foot former Poly engineering building at 2480 Government Blvd., according to Jay D. Roberds II of Roberds Commercial Realty Group, who represented the buyer. The building has 10 tenants and one vacancy, he said. Karen A. Ton smeire worked for the seller.

Greg Fowler , owner of Fowl er Plumbing, bought a 1.62-acre lot in Laughlin Industrial Park off Halls Mill Road for $205,000, according to Todd Drummond of The Drummond Group .

Castles & Crowns, a children's clothing store, plans to relocate to 4,100 square feet in Legacy Village at Spring Hill on Du Rhu Drive by Thanksgiving, according to Alex Pate of The Mitchell Company.

All Around the House , a consignment store with fine furniture and home accessories, plans to open early next month in 2,000 square feet in the retail center anchored by CVS Phar macy on Old Shell Road in Spring Hill, according to Tom Carwie of Carwie Properties .

Raja & Co. Salon will open a 3,000-square-foot shop on Church Street in Fairhope in mid-November, according to Randy Delchamps of Randy Delchamps Realty & Develop ment . The owners also operate Raja Medspa on Section Street in Fairhope, which will remain open, he said.

Office Depot will open in late December in the 20,958-square-foot building the company built a year ago, but did not immediately occupy, at U.S. 90 and Rangeline Road in Tillman's Corner, according to Melissa Perlman , a store spokesman in Boca Raton, Fla.

Snap Fitness has leased 2,600 square feet in Chamber Plaza on Chamber Drive in Bay Minette, and the 24-hour, seven-day-a-week gym plans to open in December, according to Joey McCullough of McCullough Re alty .

Robert and Carla Thomas of The Thomas Law Firm have leased 1,200 square feet at 2055 Airport Blvd. in Midtown, according to Lowery Rhodes of Roberts Brothers Commercial & Property Management .

CW Financial has leased office space at 7120 Airport Blvd. and 3101 Spring Hill Ave., according to John Vallas of Val las Realty .

Select Communications, a Verizon dealer, has leased 1,400 square feet at Shoppes at Palm Pointe at Ala. 182 and 161 in Orange Beach, according to Vallas Realty, the leasing agent for the center. Josh Burmeister of SRS Real Estate Partners represented the tenant.

Construction cost for the 81-room, four-story Candle wood Suites hotel at 121 N. Royal St. is estimated at $4 million, according to Gulf States Engineering in court records. The extended-stay hotel should be complete by next summer, according to the Birmingham developers.
