Dean Jenkins

Navy, seaman recruit

Jenkins recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2009 graduate of Albertville High School.

Matthew Rivas

Army ROTC, cadet

Rivas has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as Operation Warrior Forge, at Fort Lewis, Wash. A student at the University of North Alabama and the son of Robert J. and Elizabeth A. Rivas of Owens Cross Roads, Rivas is a 2005 graduate of Huntsville High School.

Ryan Townsend

Army Reserve, private

Townsend has graduated from basic military training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Darryl and Lisa Townsend of Owens Cross Roads and a student at New Hope High School.
